ElectroRide & Battery Smart Partners to Provide Battery Swapping Stations at 2,500 Locations

The association will begin with 50 battery swap stations across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to improve access to electric vehicle swapping infrastructure.

ElectroRide, a multi-brand electric vehicle retail chain, has partnered with Battery Smart, a battery swapping network for electric two- and three-wheelers. Under the first phase of this collaboration, Battery Smart will set up 50 swap stations at ElectroRide locations across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

The partnership aims to make electric mobility adoption simpler, more economical, and efficient by expanding EV swapping infrastructure. This initiative aligns with Battery Smart’s goal of offering EV users access to swap stations within a 1 km radius, enabling zero wait times. Over the next five years, ElectroRide’s 2,500 locations will be equipped with battery-swapping stations.

Rahul Goenka, Director of ElectroRide, stated that this initiative aligns with the government’s push towards greener transportation solutions and is expected to make electric vehicles more viable for mass adoption. The strategic placement of these stations will address the needs of urban and intercity EV commuters, promoting cleaner and more efficient mobility.

Battery Smart, operational since June 2020, has rapidly expanded to over 1,000 stations across 30 cities, completing more than 35 million battery swaps. Through its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, EV users can replace depleted batteries with fully charged ones in under two minutes.

Nishant Garg, Senior Director of Expansion at Battery Smart, highlighted that expanding access to battery swapping is crucial as EV adoption grows nationwide, enabling two- and three-wheeler users to benefit from convenience, cost-efficiency, and operational efficiency.

Subsequent phases of the project will focus on expanding the network to additional regions. ElectroRide also plans to deploy 30,000 vehicles integrated with battery-swapping technology to extend EV range and usability.
